INGREDIENTS

4 Fraternité Petite Baguettes
50g butter
50g seeded French mustard
½ small lettuce, washed with leaves separated
100g ripe tomato, finely sliced
Sea salt & black pepper to taste
400g sliced ham off the bone
100g Gruyere* sliced
* or similar, e.g. cheddar
 

METHOD

1 Cut the baguettes through the centre length ways, but don’t cut all the way through.
2 Butter liberally, then spread with mustard.
3 Place a single layer of lettuce on the bottom of the bread; add a single layer of tomato. Season the tomato and add folded ham and finish with the Gruyere.
 

to serve

Put the finished sandwiches into individual paper bags to really bring out the charm!
